Side Total Football Parlays

Side to total parlays aren't allowed on all football games (this is true for full game parlays as well as first and second half).

The Side X3 + 3 Rule

If the result of the side X3 + 3 is greater than the total, then same game parlays are NOT allowed. Also, if the wagering line in 20 or higher then same game parlays are NOT allowed.

Note: NFL and NCAA games rules are enforced by the management.

Example

Penn State is playing Bowling Green and Penn State is a 17 point favorite. In order to parlay the side to the total, the total must be greater than 51. If it is 51 or less you cannot parlay same game.

TYPES AND PAYOUTS

Pleasers

Also known as a Reverse Teaser, a Pleaser is a group of side straight bets combined into one bet for higher payoff odds, like a Parlay.

The difference between a Pleaser and a Teaser is that with a Pleaser, the line you bet against for each individual wager is moved against your favor by 6 points.

In other words, a Pleaser is similar to a teaser except that with a pleaser you GIVE AWAY points instead of receiving points. If the regular line is -10 your line with the pleaser would be -16.

Most sports bettors play teasers because of the increased odds in the players favor.

No. of Teams Odds Payout on $100 Bet
3 Teams 17 to 1 $1700
4 Teams 45 to 1 $4500
5 Teams 120 to 1 $12000
6 Teams 300 to 1 $30000
Teams Line Total
San Diego Chargers +7½ 37½
Oakland Raiders -7 45
Arizona Cardinals +2 35
Example 3-Team 6 point Football Pleaser
Team Original Line Pleased Line
San Diego Chargers +7½ +1½
Oakland Raiders -7 -13
Arizona Cardinals +2 -4

Risking $100 to win $1700

Essentially, you make it more difficult for each wager in the Pleaser to win in return for payoff odds nearly 3 times higher than normal parlay odds. This is the exact opposite of a Teaser. In order to win with a Pleaser, all the bets must win by the new adjusted line. This bet is an excellent way to maximize winnings in games where the lines do not accurately predict the true outcome.

Pleaser Rules

  1. ONLY SIDES are allowed
  2. You may only Please the complete game on the spread or
the total, not any fraction of the game (first half, half
    time, quarters, etc.)
  3. ANY loss in a Pleaser results in a losing wager
  4. Tied, cancelled, or postponed games on all Pleasers revert
to the next lower Pleaser. If no lower Pleaser is offered,
the bet will be graded NO ACTION
  5. There is a $2,000 maximum limit on Pleasers.
  6. NFL games only

TYPES AND PAYOUTS

Canceled or Postponed Games

Definition of Action

  • All football, basketball, hockey, and baseball games must be played on the date specified and at the originally scheduled venue or bets will have no action.
  • If a game is postponed and/or rescheduled to a later date, said game will automatically constitute "no action" for wagering purposes, unless otherwise stipulated.
  • Fight matches must go within one (1) week of specified date to be considered "action" unless otherwise stipulated on the ticket.
  • All other events must be held within one week of scheduled date to be considered action unless otherwise stipulated.

Parlays, Teasers and Canceled / Postponed Games

  • For wagering purposes, a football game must go a full 55 minutes.

  • If a game is suspended AFTER 55 minutes and not resumed the same day then the score when the game was stopped will be used for betting results, even if it is decided the game will be completed at another date. If play is stopped before 55 minutes the game is considered cancelled for all wagering purposes, with the exception of wagers made on periods completed before game stoppage.

  • In the event that your SweetHeart teaser contains a canceled selection(s) you have up to 7 full days to replace the canceled game with a new selection(s). If your teaser contains a canceled game and one of the legs is a loss, it will be graded as a loser.

Please contact wagering to fill in your remaining selection(s) when your teaser contains a canceled game.

  • If your parlay contains a canceled game, then it will reduce to the next lowest level.

Winners and Losers

The following sections explain the rules for determining winners and losers in various sports.

Sport Game Must Go for Action
Pro & College Football 55 minutes
Pro Basketball 43 minutes
College Basketball 35 minutes
Hockey 55 minutes
Baseball (Straight Bets, Home Team winning) 4½ innings
Baseball (Straight Bets, Visiting Team winning) 5 innings
Baseball (Totals/Run Lines, Home Team winning) 8½ innings
Baseball (Totals/Run Lines, Visiting Team winning) 9 innings

Sport Specific Rules

Baseball First 5 Innings

These bets are based on the score in the first 5 FULL INNINGS.

  • If, after the first 5 full innings, the game is not completed, all wagers on the first half will still stand.
  • If the game does not go 5 full innings for any reason, all 5 Inning or First Half wagers will be cancelled.
  • Once all 5 innings have been completed, all wagers on the first half, or 5 innings in question will stand.
  • All of these wagers are based on the listed pitchers and all First Half or 5 Inning wagers must list both pitchers. If either listed pitcher does not start, any 5 Inning wagers will be cancelled.

Please note: There is $300 wager limit on all of 5 Inning wagers.

Boxing (Pro, College, and Amateur)

  • When bell is sounded signifying the start of the opening round, the bout is considered official for wagering purposes.
  • If the bout is officially stopped prior to the bell, that round is not considered a full round.

Other Sports

All other contests that involve a scheduled length of play or time limit must play to their conclusion or have five minutes or less of the scheduled playing time remaining when the contest concludes to be considered official for wagering purposes.

All total bets must go the prescribed length, example, over total number of wins for a football team is not official until 16 games have been played.

TYPES AND PAYOUTS

Overtime Rules

Overtime is defined as a "time extension to a tied contest." After the end of regulation play, overtime lasts until a winner is determined or until maximum overtime periods expire.

In college football, overtimes commence with a First and Ten Play at the opponent's 25-Yard line. The offensive Team keeps possession until they score, commit a Turnover, or fail to convert on Fourth Down. The overtime continues until the score is no longer tied, and each team has had an equal number of possessions.

All wagers on sides and totals will include all Overtime scoring.

All wagers on the game and all wagers on the second half will include overtime scoring.

Wagers on the first half and wagers on the fourth quarter are not affected by overtime.

TYPES AND PAYOUTS

Different Wager Type

Point Spreads

Point spread wagering is the most common form of wagering. Points are either added to, or subtracted from a team's score. If you bet on a favorite the team must win by more than the spread. If you bet the underdog the team you bet cannot lose by more than the point spread.

Example

The Patriots are playing Jets this Sunday, everyone knows the Patriots will easily defeat the Jets.

What point spread wagering asks is not who is going to win, but by how much is a particular team going to win by.

The Patriots are a 7 point favorite over the Jets.

This is the way that the game is portrayed visually (the way you will see it on your computer screen when placing a bet):

Rot # Team Spread
303 Patriots -7
304 Jets +7

Reading Point Spread Lines

  1. The numbers on the left (numbers 303 & 304) are called the rotation numbers. These are the numbers assigned to the teams for the purposes of betting; these numbers are usually universal throughout the betting community.
  2. The Patriots are listed on top of the Jets, this tells the player that the Patriots are the visiting team.
  3. The -7 next to the Patriots shows that the Patriots are a 7 point favorite over the Jets.

If you place a wager on the Patriots you need them to win by 8 points or more to win your bet.

Final Score Wager Outcome
PATRIOTS: 21 JETS: 10 You would win your bet.
PATRIOTS: 10 JETS: 7 You would lose your bet; even though the Patriots won the game. they did not "cover" the point spread.
PATRIOTS: 14 JETS: 7 You would push* your bet.

Conversely, if you bet the Jets, you would be getting 7 points.

If the Jets lose by 6 points or less you win your wager, if they lose by 7 it is a push, and if they lose by 8 or more you lose your bet.

Let's say you bet the Jets +7 points.

Final Score Wager Outcome
PATRIOTS: 21 JETS: 10 You would lose your bet.
PATRIOTS: 10 JETS: 7 You would win your bet.
PATRIOTS: 14 JETS: 7 You would push[^fn1] your bet.

Point Spread (Totals)

A "Total" wager is a bet on whether or not the final score will go "over" or "under" the total posted by the sportsbook.

Example
Rot # Team Spread Money Line Total
501 Giants -3 -155 35
502 Cowboys +3 +135

The total of a game is always posted on the same line as the favorite.

If you bet the total to go over 35 and the final score was:

Final Score Combined Final Score Total Wager Result
GIANTS: 21 COWBOYS: 17 38 You would win your wager
GIANTS: 19 COWBOYS: 14 33 You would lose your wager
GIANTS: 21 COWBOYS: 14 35 You would push[^fn1] your wager

The juice for a total bet is usually the standard 11 to win 10.

Money Lines

When betting on the money line all you have to do is select the winner. Larger favorites will require you to "lay" more money for a return. Because they are less likely to win the game/match underdogs payout larger than the amount risked when they win.

Example

Giants are playing the Cowboys and the Giants are -3. You think the Giants will win but maybe only by a field goal or less.

Rot # Team Spread Money Line
501 Giants -3 -155
502 Cowboys +3 +135

Like point spread wagering, the favorite is indicated by a minus (-) sign. The money line is based on a $100 wager. If you wanted to bet the Giants on the money line you would have to "lay" $155 to win a $100. However, if you wanted to bet the Cowboys on the money line for every $100 you risked, you would get $135 in return, if the Cowboys won the game outright.

Buying Points

On point spread and total wagering (full game only) you are allowed to "buy points". Buying points means you can move the line up to 2 points in your favor. The way this works is for every ½ point you want to buy, you must risk extra juice. Certain sports and spreads cost more juice to purchase than others. Refer to the point buying section for an up to date listing.

Prop Bets

These are wagers made on a very specific outcome of a match. Examples include guessing the number of goals each team scores in a soccer match, betting whether a wide receiver in a football game will net more or less than a set amount of total yardage, or wagering that a baseball player on one team will accumulate more hits than another player on the opposing team.

Parlays

A parlay involves multiple bets (usually up to 15) and rewards successful bettors with a large payout. For example, a bettor could include four different wagers in a four-team parlay, whereby he is wagering that all four bets will win. If any of the four bets fails to cover, the bettor loses the parlay, but if all four bets win, the bettor receives a substantially higher payout (usually 10-1 in the case of a four-teamer) than if he made the four wagers separately.

Round Robins

A Round Robin is a series of parlays. A three-team Round Robin consists of one three-team parlay and three two-team parlays.

Teasers

Like a parlay, a teaser is the combination of multiple straight wagers, and the line is moved in your favor. These are two or more teams or propositions in which additional points are either added to the underdog or subtracted to the favorite. A teaser allows you to move the line much more dramatically than buying points allows (up to 21 points in some cases).

A Pleaser is similar to a Teaser except that with a pleaser you GIVE AWAY points instead of receiving points. If the regular line is -10 your line with the pleaser would be -16. Most sports bettors play teasers because of the increased odds in the players favor.

If Bets

An IF bet is a selection of two straight wagers joined together on one bet by an "if" clause. This type of wager allows you to limit your risk by placing two straight bets on one betting ticket. Your second bet will only have action "if" the first bet in the sequence is successful. An "if" bet is also useful if you want to make multiple (2-6) straight bets, but do not have adequate funds in your account to cover the extra bets unless the first bet wins.

Action Reverses

An Action-Reverse bet is a pair of If Action bets. The pairs are made by taking the original If Action wager and placing another If Action wager in reverse order. Not only is it a wager that if A wins or pushes, then B, but also If B wins or pushes then A.

Rolling If Bets

A Rolling If Bet (RIF) allows you to make a wager pending the outcome of a previously placed wager that is currently in progress, or has yet to begin. With RIF wagers you are able to "roll" one wager into another one. Rolling If Bets are "if win only" or "if win or push (or cancel)." Maximum 2 rolling bets from original bet.

Futures

This bet predicts a future accomplishment by a team or player. One example is a bet that a certain NFL team will win the Super Bowl for the upcoming season. Odds for such a bet generally are expressed in a ratio of units paid to unit wagered. The team wagered upon might be 50-1 to win the Super Bowl, which means that the bet will pay 50 times the amount wagered if the team does so.

TYPES AND PAYOUTS

Props and Futures

Propositions

Props, or proposition wagers are based on the outcome of a possible event.

Example
Prop - Dow Jones Wagering
In the next 3 months, will the Dow Jones Index drop below 13,000 on a closing level?
Yes +800
No -1,000

At +800, if you bet "Yes" for $100, you are betting that by the closing date of the prop (9/9/16), the Dow Index will indeed drop below 13,000. At 8 to 1, if you are right, your $100 will return $800 plus your inital $100 wager.

Futures

Future wagers are based far in advance on the outcome of an event (usually a full season or playoff). For example, placing a Future wager on the MLB World Series Winner before the start of the MLB season.

Example

Before the start of the NFL season you can bet on each team to win the Super Bowl. In the example below if you bet on the Steelers to win the Super Bowl you would win $2,200 for every $100 wagered if the Steelers were the champions of Super Bowl 50.

Super Bowl 50 Futures
Team to Win Odds
Pittsburgh Steelers 22 to 1

TYPES AND PAYOUTS

If Bets and Reverses

Baseball

  • In order to use risk + win amount all Baseball selections must include both listed pitchers, If Action chosen instead; risk amount will be the maximum bet on your next wager.
  • In case of a pitching change on a Baseball game when selecting "Action" instead of "Listed pitchers" all consecutive payouts will be affected by the new pitcher (adjusted price).

There are two types of action you can select when you are placing an
IF bet:

Single Action and Double Action.

Single Action

Also called "If Win Only" means the second part of the wager only has
action if the first part of the wager is a win.

If the first part is settled as a push, no action, or cancelled, the amount risked is returned to your account.

Double Action

Means if for any reason the first part of the wager is settled as
a win, push, no action, or cancelled, then the second part of the wager is then placed.

Reverses

A Reverse bet is a series of IF bets going both forward and in reverse order.
Each team included in the reverse bet will pair with the other team to form two IF bets.

An example (using Football and Baseball)

First Part

    New England Patriots -8
            $110 to win $100
Double Action (If win, push, no action, or cancelled)

Then

    Oakland A's (-175)
            Risk $110 to win $63

Second Part

    Oakland A's (-175)
            $110 to win $63
Double Action (If win, push, no action, or cancelled)

Then

    New England Patriots -8
            Risk $110 to win $100
Total risk- $220 (maximum risk) to win $326

Possible Outcomes

  1. If the Patriots and the A's both win, you will win $163 on the first part of the wager and $163 on the reverse part, for total winnings of $326.
  2. If the Patriots win and the A's lose, you will lose $10 on the first part of the wager and $110 on the reverse part, for total losses of $120.
  3. If the A's win and the Patriots lose, you will lose $110 on the first part of the wager and $47 on the reverse part, for total losses of $157.
  4. If one team pushes, is no action, or is cancelled and the other team is a loss, you will lose $220.
  5. If one team pushes, is no action, or is cancelled and the other team wins, you will either win $126 (63+63) for the A's or $200 for the Patriots (100+100).
